Students begin exciting careers with mascot company

Three former Clarendon Sixth Form College fashion students have started exciting new careers making mascot costumes for international  clients with Denton based, Frenzy Creative.

Ellie Perati, Shanice Aspinalland and Sarah Glaister, who all studied Level 3 Fashion and Clothing at Clarendon, are now working full-time at Frenzy Creative after completing their course, making costumes for top brands such as Hamleys Toy Stores, Thomson’s TUI brand and Cancer Research.

The former students work mainly in the Props Department, crafting bespoke heads for each mascot costume. Former fashion student, Shanice Aspinall, said: “This is my first fashion and clothing job out of college and I feel so lucky. It's going really well and I hope to progress into a supervisory or coordinator role as I gain more experience. It's such an exciting environment to work in making a different costume each time."

Owner of Frenzy Creative, Rob Ferrie, said: "We're always on the look-out for people who have good sewing skills and a creative flair as the business continues to grow each year. When we were approached by the fashion team at Clarendon Sixth Form College we were happy to take on students for work experience who had the skill set we needed. The students did such a good job we offered them full-time positions after they finished college and they have since thrived as part of our successful business."

Jackie Roberts, fashion and textiles teacher from Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: "We're so proud of the students. Getting your first job in a field that you love and have studied in can be challenging when you first leave college. But by applying themselves during work experience, our students have shown that it is possible to start a career with fantastic organisations like Frenzy Creative. We wish them all the best in their new roles."
