The A-Level Art course is designed to develop students’ creative and technical skills, fostering their ability to think critically and reflectively. Through an ambitious programme of study students experience a range of artistic processes, including investigation, experimentation, design, and making shaping the opportunity to develop their personal artistic voice. The course is structured to cultivate independent learning, encourage exploration of ideas, and enhance problem-solving abilities, which are highly valued in higher education and the creative industries.
Fine Art is traditionally known for painting and drawing. This is a course that gives you the opportunity to discover ways of working in these areas but also includes printmaking, 3D and 2D methods, digital media, mixed media and installation art. From suggested starting points and workshop delivery you will be encouraged to develop as a high level thinker and creative interpreter. Underpinning your work will be the development of vital drawing skills and the appreciation of a broad range of other artists work.
Level 3 (Advanced)
- 5 GCSEs grade 4 or above including mathematics and English.
Prior ability to use Art techniques and processes
