Course content & format

This level 3 is a 2 year program that deals with the scientific themes and concepts of sport and exercise. Modules include Exercise, health and lifestyle, preparing for a career in sport and physical activity, Anatomy & Physiology, Sports Coaching, Fitness Testing & Programming, Applied Sports Psychology and Sports Nutrition.

You will learn through hands on practical scenarios in the real world of sport and exercise. Learners will be encouraged to gain real world experience and undertake voluntary hours as additional work experience within the sector.

The Diploma in Sports aims to combine your love of sport with a comprehensive understanding of the sport and active leisure sector. Learners will develop a range of technical skills and attributes which will support a career in sport and active leisure as well as develop academic and study skills that will support progression to higher education within sport and related sectors.

Entry Qualifications

Candidates will be expected to be enthusiastic about Sport (whether this is as a spectator or participating) and interested in the positive benefits of a Physically Active lifestyle.
