Students learn top skills with practice auditions

Performing arts students at Clarendon Sixth Form College gain experience with top industry links.

Level three students took part in practice auditions with Lucy Richardson an agent with Atius Management, a professional talent agency from Manchester.

Atius manage a wide range of actors and performers, with some starring in TV shows such as Life on Mars, Coronation Street and The Crown.

All students were given the opportunity to perform two solo pieces to Lucy; either a monologue, dance or song and then given feedback on their performance.

The activity was aimed at giving the students vital experience of real life auditions in the industry and help to prepare them for higher education.

Derek Martin, performing arts teacher at Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “It is crucial that students get the experience of auditioning before they go off and do the real thing. This is all going to give them the skills they need for the industry and it was brilliant that they could do this in front of a professional and experienced talent agent.”
